Back in 2009 designer Nyla Jano made a serendipitous trip to Southeast Asia that would inspire the creation of TORRAIN. Since then the company has grown in leaps and bounds and clearly shows no signs of slowing down. In fact, as TORRAIN’S product lines and reputation continue to gain momentum, it appears she may just be getting started.

The design team at TORRAIN spends a good deal of time meditating on ways to infuse value into our products. What do we mean by value? Most companies translate value as monetary worth. And yes, a successful business cannot sustain itself without revenue. But in no way is our idea of value static.

Here at TORRAIN we are passionate about looking good and feeling even better, and at the root of both these concepts lies in our connection to the natural beauty of everyday life. Our company was first conceived traversing a dynamic marketplace against the backdrop of Cambodia’s majestic mountain ranges, tropical rainforests, and breathtaking coastal views.

One looks back with appreciation to the brilliant teachers, but with gratitude to those who touched our human feelings. The curriculum is so much necessary raw material, but warmth is the vital element for the growing plant and for the soul of the child. ~ Carl Jung
