Turning the Tide on Ocean Plastic with CleanHub.
In 2026, we are deepening our sustainability impact by partnering with CleanHub, a mission-driven organization focused on stopping ocean-bound plastic pollution. Our model is still 1:1, but we are now recovering 1 lb of plastic for every bag sold.
Through this partnership, TORRAIN funds the collection and responsible processing of plastic waste in vulnerable coastal regions — preventing it from ever entering oceans or natural environments.
With CleanHub:
- We fund verified plastic waste recovery projects in communities that lack formal waste services.
- Collected plastic is sorted and recycled where possible, or turned into alternative fuel — replacing coal and gas and keeping it out of nature.
- We track and report this impact transparently, so our community can see progress toward measurable goals.
Impact is in our DNA
On Earth Day 2019, TORRAIN launched our 1:1 Initiative. For every item sold, we donated $1 to rotating organizations doing vital work for our planet and its people. It was a meaningful place to start, but we wanted to create a more direct and measurable impact. That search led us to CleanHub.
Today, our 1:1 model is simple: for every bag sold, 1 lb of plastic is recovered. It makes our impact more tangible, more measurable, and closely connected to the materials problem we care deeply about.
