After years of working with our trusted artisans in Cambodia we wanted to get our hands dirty with a local line that’s made here in Portland, Oregon. We started collecting local feed bags but after an inspiring to Morocco last year and seeing their beautiful agricultural bags, we decided to expand to another production plan. We’ve combined the authenticity of the Moroccan materials with the quality and sustainability of being locally made.
We joined forces with a small artisan group in Morocco who gathers the materials for us and ships them our way. We wash the material in our own backyards then cut and sew them with the help of our talented sewer, Junko at Doma Works here in Portland. Her craftsmanship and patience with working with these difficult materials is unparalleled and we are proud and grateful for our collaboration. The lining of the bags is made from melted plastic bottles and printed with our signature topographical map pattern which adds extra durability.
This project has been so rewarding, to witness the full process and to have control over the quality of the final products. After a year of development, we’re excited to announce that the Moroccan line finally launched. Our favorite new bag is the small day pack. It’s the perfect size and shape for your daytime adventures.
Another great addition is the Two Way Tote. This bag has been flying off the shelves. The shoulder strap is removable so you can use it as a regular tote or a cross body bag.
Each bag is one of a kind and is available in an assortment of prints. Check out the radness here and stay tuned for new additions in the next couple weeks!
